Building a save coalition
SAVE’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) fabric represents our goal toward a community mission empowering businesses in building healthy relationships with the veteran community. Clients that incorporate our veteran specific services become part of our SAVE coalition contributing to helping reduce the number of veteran suicides.
Building a Coalition to Reduce the Number
At SAVE, we educate our clients and incorporate advocacy services into their business model. We believe every veteran we assist provides hope through opportunities, reducing stress and depression. Every business that incorporates SAVE into their business model plays a role in the public health approach reducing veteran suicides.
On an average 17 veterans and two service members die by suicide per day.
Since 2010, more than 71,000 veterans have died by suicide – more than the total number of deaths from combat during the Vietnam War and the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
These women and men volunteered to serve their country, often in dangerous conditions. We owe them, their families, and their fellow service members and veterans a better, more coordinated response to address the military and veteran suicide crisis.
